CAD/ CAM LAB

Introduction of CAD/ CAM LAB: The applications of computers are more and more popular in modern industry and business. Computer-Aided-Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided-Manufacturing (CAM) were developed in order to shorten the process of designing and manufacturing. The main objective of this laboratory is to provide the undergraduate and post-graduated students with the knowledge and techniques of the research and application of CAD/CAM. This lab is equipped with P-IV systems with ANSYS, PRO/ENGINEER WILD FIRE AND NASTRAN ALGOR softwares and CNC machine. In addition, the CAD/CAM resources are utilized in undergraduate and post-graduated project works and research work.

Workshop Lab

Introduction: Workshop practice imparts basic knowledge of various tools and use in different section fitting black smithy, tin smithy foundry, welding, carpentry etc. No doubt, engineers are not going to become a black smithy or carpenters or blacksmiths or skilled worker on the shop floor, but exposing to all working trades, provides them a birds eye view of the basic practical activities associated with all section of manufacturing unit. It also helps them, when they occupy managerial position, in understand the activities and practical difficulties so that they can take appropriate decisions.

Fluid Mechanics & Hydraulic Machine Lab

Introduction: FLUID MECHANICS & HYDRAULIC MACHINE Lab houses the various forms of turbines and pumps that are found in Industry and the Flow measurement devices are incorporated. The pumps are measure of concern to most Engineers and Technicians. The types of pumps vary in principle and design. The selection of the pump for any particular application is to be done by understanding their characteristics. The most commonly used pumps for domestic, agricultural and Industrial purposes are centrifugal, piston and axial flow.

Machine Tool Lab

Introduction: Machine tool laboratory is the practice for metal cutting operations like, turning, milling, drilling, and shaping slotting and grinding operations, by using various machine tools. Machine tool is the Device which provides relative motions between tool and work piece.

The students learn about all tool holding techniques, work holding techniques and machining operations. The idea of this laboratory is to make the students to fit into the industry as per their requirements.

Production Lab

Introduction: In our day today life we are using 'N' number of products from wake up to the bed and going to the bed. All these products are produced by various production processes like casting, forming, welding, and press working and so on. In PT Lab we are producing few components like washers, mosquito coil stand, key chain, 150 CC plastic bottles with cap by using hydraulic press injection Moulding blow Moulding etc. In this lab we are producing wooden patterns of different shapes on wood turning lathe machines, it also equipped with AC/DC arc welding Spot welding, Gas Welding machines, for joining the metals.

The students are exposed to various production processes at the end of the lab.

Open Circuit Wind Tunnels

Introduction: Open circuit wind tunnels do not directly re-circulate air. Rather, air is drawn in from the laboratory environment, passes through the test section and is returned back to the lab through the tunnel exhaust. Because each AEROLAB open circuit wind tunnel is individually designed, one can be made to meet your exact requirements. Many past customers had special needs such as low ceilings, limited access (small doorways) and obstacles such as building columns and overhead ducting. Although custom design is AEROLAB’s specialty, many popular sizes from 6-inch x 6-inch (15cm x 15cm) to 33.6-inch x 48-inch (85cm x 122cm) are offered.

Applications: Research, education and demonstrations. Open circuit wind tunnels are a perfect choice when laboratory space and/or funding is limited.

Performance Specifications: Airspeed Range. Turbulence Level - typically less than 0.25% (depending upon laboratory conditions).
